About the Forum
The Youth IGF India Annual Forum 2026 marks the 9th edition of the annual forum, bringing together young voices and stakeholders from across India to engage in conversations on the future of the Internet.
The forum will be held at IIT Bombay on September 4th, 2026, providing a platform for young people to exchange perspectives and engage with emerging issues at the intersection of technology, governance, and society.
The forum seeks to foster meaningful dialogue, encourage diverse perspectives, and strengthen youth participation in India’s evolving digital ecosystem.

The forum is open to all interested participants, regardless of age, profession, or background.

Participation Guidelines
For All Participants
- Every participant, whether attending offline or online, is a valued contributor to the forum.
- All contributions made during sessions will be recorded and consolidated into the post event report, which will be submitted to the UN IGF.
- Active participation is expected throughout the forum.
- Participants are expected to follow the Youth IGF India Code of Conduct throughout the event.
- The policy recommendations developed during the forum will be compiled and shared with relevant stakeholders through appropriate channels to ensure wider impact.
Offline Participants (On-Site at Mumbai)
- Receive an official Certificate of Participation, recognizing your contribution.
- Attendance will be monitored for every session to ensure full participation.
- Meals, refreshments, and swags will be provided during the forum.
- Dress Code – Formals/Smart casuals
Online Participants (Virtual via Zoom)
- A Zoom link will be shared with registered participants 2 days prior to the event date.
- You are expected to attend all sessions at the forum, as your contributions will also form part of the Outcome Document.
- Active online engagement (via chat, polls, Q&A) will be considered as participation.
- An official Certificate of Participation will also be provided to engaged online participants.
Logistics & Travel Information
By Air
- Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (BOM) is the primary airport serving Mumbai and is located approximately 8-10 km from IIT Bombay.
- Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMI) is approximately 38-40 km from IIT Bombay. Participants can take a taxi or app-based cab to the campus.
By Train
- Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) (~25 km away from IIT Bombay)
- Mumbai Central Railway Station (~25 km away from IIT Bombay)
- Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) (~15 km away from IIT Bombay)
Local Transport:
- Participants can use app-based cab services, taxis, auto-rickshaws, BEST buses, and the Mumbai Metro to reach IIT Bombay.
- Saki Naka on Mumbai Metro Line 1 and Aarey JVLR on Metro Line 3 are the nearest metro stations to IIT Bombay; Auto-rickshaws are available from both stations to the campus.
- BEST buses connect IIT Bombay with several parts of Mumbai, with stops including IIT Main Gate, IIT Market Gate, and Hiranandani Gardens.

All contributions made by participants will be consolidated into the Youth IGF India 2026 Outcome Document and Report, which is officially submitted to the UN IGF as part of the global process.
8. Do I need prior experience in Internet Governance to participate?
No. The forum is open to all those who are interested in learning and engaging with issues related to Internet governance, technology, and digital policy. The forum is open to all who are curious and committed to learning. Beginners are welcome.
